Close duplicate tabs in Chrome
Tab Closer is a free Chrome extension that finds duplicate tabs by matching URL and title, keeps one original, and closes the extra copies.
It waits for pages to finish loading. Active, pinned, and audible tabs stay open. You can review the list first or use Undo after a cleanup.
How to use it
- Click the Tab Closer icon.
- Choose All windows or This window.
- Click Close duplicates, or open Review tabs to change the selection.
Matching rules
Tabs must share a URL and a title. Tabs that share a URL but have different titles stay open. Tab Closer does not read page content. Add a site exception when the same URL and title can hold different work.
Privacy
Tab Closer has no account, analytics, ads, or external service. It reads tab URLs, titles, and state on your device. Chrome stores your settings and the last Undo batch. Nothing is sent to the developer or another company.
